Pronto Pizza SEO Case Study

Same Reach, More Than Double the Click-Through

Fast-casual pizza restaurant

Search Console, year ending 21 August 2026

Nearly every SEO case study is a story about reaching more people. This one is different. Pronto Pizza, a fast-casual restaurant, already reached plenty of people, and they scrolled past it. The site was appearing tens of thousands of times a quarter in search results and almost nobody chose it, because what searchers saw in the result gave them no reason to.

The figures are a 90-day Search Console baseline and the year of Search Console data ending 21 August 2026, published with the screen by our founder on nizamuddeen.com. Same numbers here, ORM’s wording.

The Numbers at a Glance

A 90-day baseline before the work, then twelve months of Google Search Console. Periods on each card.

0.39% CTR

The 90-day baseline: 64,923 impressions turned into 251 clicks.

0.9% CTR

The twelve-month average, more than double the baseline, and dragged down by the months before the work shipped.

2.33K Clicks

Across the twelve months to 21 August 2026, climbing from late May onward.

259K Impressions

Across the same year, holding roughly the same band throughout. The reach did not change; the clicks did.

61 Pages

Without a meta description, so Google assembled snippets from whatever text it found. Sixty-two more had titles too long to survive the results page.

Position 5.3

The reviews page, comfortably on page one, on 2,079 impressions, taking zero clicks.

What It Shows

What This Case Shows

Before paying to be found by more people, look at what the people already finding you do next. Pronto showed up 64,923 times in a quarter and earned 251 clicks. A larger audience would not have fixed that. Sixty-one missing meta descriptions would.

  1. When a page ranks fifth and nobody clicks, the rankings are not what failed. The listing is, and the listing is the snippet.
  2. Nothing in SEO is cheaper to fix than the snippet. The rankings had already been earned; they simply were not being collected on.
  3. Fix the highest-impression pages first, so the work lands where there is already traffic to capture.
  4. Read the two lines together. Impressions flat, clicks climbing, is the shape of a click-through fix.
  5. Hold the reach up while the click-through work compounds, which is what the topical layer was for.

The Restaurant That Ranked and Was Not Clicked

Pronto Pizza is a fast-casual pizza restaurant with a site of 76 pages: menu, reviews, locations, the usual. It had done the hard part already. Its pages sat on page one for the searches that matter to a restaurant, and the searchers scrolled past.

  • The menu page: 19,392 impressions in 90 days at position 9.4
  • The reviews page at position 5.3 on 2,079 impressions, with zero clicks
  • 64,923 impressions across the site in the same 90 days, for 251 clicks
  • Click-through of about 0.39%, a fraction of what pages in those positions normally earn
  • Location pages stuck at positions 15 to 23, one push away from mattering

Being found was not the problem. Being chosen was.

The Diagnosis: 76 Pages and a Search Console Pull

Crawling all 76 pages and pulling live Search Console data side by side produced an unusual but unambiguous picture. The fault sat inside the search listing itself.

  • Sixty-one pages carried no meta description, leaving Google to build a snippet out of whatever text it could find
  • Sixty-two titles ran past sixty characters and were being cut off mid-sentence in the results
  • A handful of pages had heading problems, with the H1 missing or doubled
  • The reviews page, the most persuasive page a restaurant has, gave searchers nothing to click on
  • The site kept appearing and kept giving searchers nothing to pick it for

Most audits look for what stops a site ranking. This one found a site that ranked fine and threw the rankings away at the last step.

Card: 0.39% click-through on 64,923 impressions in 90 days
Card: 61 pages without a meta description and 62 titles too long

Fixing the Snippet First

The order of work followed the impressions: the pages that were already being shown most were fixed first, so the change landed where there was traffic to capture.

  • Every title and meta description rewritten, starting with the pages shown most often
  • The reviews page rewritten and expanded, so a page ranking fifth finally had something to show
  • Heading problems fixed on the few pages that had them
  • The location pages, parked at positions 15 to 23, rebuilt with real local content
  • A layer of food and recipe articles surrounding the menu, with event pages timed to the tournament crowds the area draws, to keep the reach steady while the click-through gains built up

No lever in SEO costs less than the snippet, and nobody had pulled it. Everything else on the list is there to make sure the fix kept paying.

The Evidence: A Year of Search Console

Beside this section: Search Console for the year ending 21 August 2026. Everything is in the two lines.

  • Across the year: 259K impressions, 2.33K clicks, average position 9.8
  • Impressions, the purple line, stay inside the same band for the whole year
  • Clicks, the blue line, run low until the end of May, then rise and go on rising through the summer
  • The reach did not grow; the share of it that became visits did
  • No new audience was bought; the existing one started choosing the site

If the impressions had risen with the clicks, this would be a reach story. They did not. It is a click-through story, and the chart shows exactly where the work shipped.

Google Search Console, twelve months to 21 August 2026: impressions hold at 259K while clicks climb from late May
Card: click-through 0.39% before and 0.9% after on the same reach

Same Reach, More Than Double the Click-Through

Across the twelve months the click-through averaged 0.9%, over twice the 0.39% baseline, and that average still carries nine months recorded before the work went live.

  • 0.39% across the 90-day baseline
  • 0.9% across the twelve-month window, averaged over months with and without the fix
  • Since the fix went live the monthly figures sit well above that average, as the rising blue line shows
  • Impressions in the same band throughout, so the improvement cannot be explained by extra reach
  • A click-through fix pays on every impression the site already earns, every day

This is the least expensive result on our portfolio page and one of the most valuable, because it cost no new pages and no new audience.

The Takeaway for Any Site That Already Ranks

If your site already appears on page one and the phone stays quiet, check the result before checking the rankings.

  • Pull the pages with the most impressions and read their titles and descriptions as a searcher would
  • Count the pages with no meta description and the titles that will be cut off
  • Fix those pages first, in impression order
  • Give the pages that are almost there, like reviews and locations, something worth clicking
  • Then build the topical layer that keeps the reach from eroding

We run this check as part of every audit. For restaurants the full method is on our restaurant SEO page; for any site, start with the SEO service.

Questions about this case study.

Because they were already good: the menu page at 9.4 and the reviews page at 5.3 on the searches that matter to a restaurant. Ranking fifth and taking zero clicks is a presentation problem, and the presentation is the title and description Google shows in the result.

The two lines under a page’s title in a search result. When a page has none, Google assembles something from whatever text it finds, and the result reads like a fragment. Sixty-one pages on this site had none, so searchers were choosing competitors whose results read like an invitation.

Because it averages the nine months before the work shipped with the months after. The baseline was 0.39%. The click line in the evidence screen shows the months since the fix running well above the year’s average, which is the number a shorter window would report.

No, and that is the point. Impressions held roughly the same band all year at 259K, while clicks climbed. The improvement cannot be explained by a bigger audience. The same audience started choosing the site.

Yes, and it is one of the first things we check on any site that already ranks: missing descriptions, titles cut off in the results, and persuasive pages that give searchers nothing to click. Our restaurant SEO page covers the rest of the method.
